ADVANCED WOUND CARE

Algostéril® dressings and ropes are indicated in the treatment of acute and chronic wounds.

Haemostatic: Algostéril®’s efficacy is due to its release of calcium ions accelerating local coagulation, while its alginate fiber matrix contributes to structuring and reinforcing the blood clot.

Healing: as soon as it comes in contact with the wound, Algostéril® exchanges its Ca++ ions with the Na+ ions of wound fluids (exudate or blood). This ionic exchange activates key cells of the healing process. Algostéril®’s fibers gellify, creating a moist environment favorable to wound healing.

Prevents infection: Locally, Algostéril® traps bacteria in its gellified interfibrilar matrix. Algostéril® inhibits the growth of bacteria responsible for toxic shock syndrome.

Coalgan® is a haemostatic swab, made of calcium alginate fibers. Coalgan® activates the platelet aggregation, reducing coagulation time.

Coalgan®-H is a haemostatic dressing, made of calcium alginate fibers. It has been specifically developed to fit the needs of hemodialysis units. Its woven structure makes it very easy to use (to fold and apply) and prevents leaving residual fibers in the wound upon removal.

FOREseal® is made of calcium polyglycuronates threads which are knitted to form a blocked meshwork sleeve. Composed of two knitted, coated sleeves, FOREseal® is available in different sizes and customized to fit most linear cutting staplers. FOREseal® is indicated in lung surgery.
