INDEPENDENT FRENCH PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY
Established in 1949 in the heart of the Loire Valley, Brothier pioneered the worldwide use and further development of calcium alginate in the therapeutic area with Coalgan, a haemostatic calcium alginate swab specifically designed to treat nosebleeds.
 

OUR KNOW-HOW
Benefiting from the great potential of plant-based biopolymers, Brothier develops and manufactures calcium alginate dressings to meet the needs of patients and health professionals who care for them.

Brothier’s haemostatic and healing devices are distributed under the brand names Algosteril®,Algoderm®, Trionic®, Coalgan®, Stop Hemo® and NasalCEASE®. Our products have been tested in many clinical studies, demonstrating their benefits in wound therapy.
Our knowledge and expertise in plant-based biopolymers recently allowed us to invest in the area of implantable and resorbable biopolymers. With FOREseal®, Brothier offers an innovative solution to the problem of aerostasis in lung surgery.
