Stop Hémo® (European brand, known as Coalgan range in France), Chi-Care® (Japan), NasalCEASE®/BleedCEASE® (USA),  Trionic® and Algoderm Trionic®.

A double therapeutic action : from stopping bleeding to healing

The first aid range is made from calcium alginate, derived from marine algae. There are numerous algae species (green, red, and brown). Brown algae are the most common and are made up of three primary varieties. The range is derived from one of these varieties and benefits from their haemostatic and healing properties.

Upon contact with any sodium-rich liquid (blood, exudate, or saline solution NaCl 0.9%), calcium alginate hydrates, gels, and releases calcium ions. These physical and chemical changes in the calcium alginate are responsible for its therapeutic action.

STOPS BLEEDING:
The first aid range facilitates blood clot formation through:

  • Mechanical action: forming a support for platelet adhesion.
  • Biological action: releasing calcium ions that encourage platelet aggregation and thus haemostasis.

PROMOTES HEALING:

  • By maintaining a moist cellular environment that supports the natural healing process.
  • By releasing calcium ions that activate macrophages and other key healing cells.

PAINLESS REMOVAL:

The calcium alginate fibres gel on contact with blood, exudate, or saline solution (NaCl 0.9%). The gel formed around the fibres enables an atraumatic removal: The first aid range does not adhere to the wound and does not disrupt the newly formed clot, thus preventing potential rebleeding.

The first aid range is also effective for people with haemostasis disorders (congenital or acquired) and is suitable for pregnant women and all ages.
